Non-Registered Accounts
Non-registered accounts are alternative savings accounts that Canadians can use to save for the future. These accounts are fully taxed on an annual basis unlike RRSPs or TFSAs. There are no contribution limits or age restrictions to these accounts, and they can be used to hold a wide range of investment assets to save for the future.
Typically, non-registered accounts are opened to hold the cash portion in an investment portfolio which in turn will hold short-term saving products, bonds, money market funds or HISAs (high-interest savings accounts).
